The campus is quiet. so much so that in this silence I can hear the world over. Stars alight the night as I slip through the quiet air, gliding along on my bike which wobbles here and there over loose stones and broken pathways. But even this does not break the silence. I feel the essence of the night seep into me and little by little I grow quiet with it. The students have all gone to sleep or gone away, the staff are at there homes, awaiting a new day. Well, today is Valentines day and despite the morbid title I have inflicted upon this journal entry the fact is this, I love Valentines day--loved it when I was young, loved it when I wasn't single, and love it now that I am. I enjoy happiness in other people--they always give off this warm glow when they are happy--and honestly I like to find ways to make other people happy. Sigh, call me a people pleaser.
